Like it or not, if you live in the U.S., you live in a Capitalistic society. That means you EARN your living. And that means you COMPETE.
Yes, it’s a “FREE” society, meaning you can be anything you want to be … if you are willing to invest everything you’ve got toward “becoming” … all other things being equal … which they very seldom are – unless OTHER people make them so … like parents, teachers, coaches, law enforcement, etc., and can validate you’ve earned your station!
But so many OTHERS may want, need or DESERVE the same thing.
So, we have to learn and develop the best means we have to COMPETE.
The REAL question is: How are YOU going to compete? Being Smarter? Faster? Better? Stronger? More Creative? Lying? Stealing? Bullying? Intimidating?
The first level of LEGITIMATE successful competition is DOING WHAT YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO DO.
Not everybody does!
The next level of successful competition is doing MORE than you’re “supposed to do” … more than you’re EXPECTED to do. Fewer, still, reach this level of “accommodation”.
Finally, we have to understand the basic premise that:
“Everything you DESERVE is going to take
Everything you’ve got!”
Quartermaster
And we have to decide: How far short of “Everything we deserve” we are going to settle?
Sobering reality: If you’re not giving your DREAM or ASPIRATION or EXPECTATION … or presumed ENTITLEMENT … everything you’ve got, whatever you “get” might become a whole lot shorter than you’d like to “settle” for.
But some might ask: What have you got to lose? Potentially EVERYTHING!
